About Our Work

Chestnut Ridge Studio & Forge is all about exploring and creating functional and decorative artwork in a variety of mediums. In its early days, the studio was called Pennsylvania Iron & Glass, and the focus was on glass and iron work. However, as Chestnut Ridge Studio artists Wm. Lloyd Cox Jr. and Susan Brimo-Cox honed new skills and revived former talents, it was clear that the studio was moving in a definite multi-medium direction. So, as the studio grew at its Chestnut Ridge location, a name change became inevitable.

Today, blacksmithing, metalsmithing, glass beadmaking, enameling, jewelry design, photography, nature art and fabric painting are all practiced. Inspiration for their creative works is found in nature, and much of the work created at Chestnut Ridge Studio & Forge has an organic flavor. But contemporary styling is also apparent.
